Days can be mild, but evenings are still cool. Summer (June–September): Pack lightweight clothing, breathable fabrics, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, swimwear, and very comfortable walking shoes. Evenings are warm, especially on the islands. Autumn (October–November): Bring layers, a light jacket, comfortable shoes, and rain protection. The sea is still warm, but nights cool down quickly. Winter (December–February): Pack warm clothing, a waterproof jacket, sweaters, jeans, closed shoes or boots, and an umbrella. Greece gets cold, rainy, and windy in winter, especially in Athens, Thessaloniki, and the islands. In northern and mountain regions, it can even snow. Religious Sites & Monasteries: Regardless of season, modest clothing is required. Shoulders and knees should be covered.
